Did God really create people who were born in different religions only for them to go to Hell?

Well, according to the bible the Earth is only 6000 years old and man was created on the 6th day. However, dinosaurs roamed the earth 245 million years ago and humans 400,000 years ago if the latest tooth they found in Middle East is proven to be human. So did God create people at all? or the earth? Think about it with an open mind. I don't have the answers other then it's a proven fact the world is in the neighborhood of 4.5 billion years old, not 6000 years, quite the difference there.
