Why do Socialists insist Socialism has nothing to do with Marxist Communism?

Do you expect socialists to tell you the truth? They aquire power by decieving the public, giving them false hope when what they really offer is slavery. What if you were told that life would be better if you just turned over all your freedom to the state? All communists are socialists as well. They use it as a means to achieve what they tell everyone else is "communism", but it's a lie.
