Better to book hotel or just turn up?

Not smart to not have a reservation for somewhere to sleep unless you don't mind the possibility of NOT having a place to sleep.. Do research before you travel to find out what the place you're going to is like, what you should expect, etc. You can look around resorts and eat at hotels even if you aren't staying there.
