Cervical scarring causing pain?

During the last trimester of my first pregnancy I had pain in the right side of my lower abdomen. Dr thought it was ligament pain. After birth (c-sect) pain turned into a major - crippling - problem. Ultrasound revealed cervical scarring with LOTS of fluid build-up, DNC done in early Nov 07 seemed to correct the problem. I began having seemingly regular periods Nov & Dec. Jan was late & light. Feb was light and began experiencing pain again occasionally. March pain increased, period was late & only 1 day long. Pain is consitantly getting worse. Have Dr appt sched for this Monday, and want to be armed with info- but can't find anything similar online! Dr suggested that if DNC didn't work she would remove portion of cervix that is scarred.. could cause cervical incompetence in next preg. I'd get second opinion before surgical option.. but is there anything else anyone can think of that may be causing this problem??
