The Faith Baptist Religion?

The Baptist community came about in the mid-1600's...they were a part of a group known as anabaptists (meaning re-baptize). They were the first group to reject infant baptism and baptism by pouring (they insisted on immersion). some of that group are the myriads of Baptist groups -- Southern Baptists, Free Baptists, American (formerly Northern) Baptists, the Mennonites and the amish (which is the most strict of these groups). Because of their insisting on re-baptizing those baptized by pouring or as infants, the Puritans of the 1600's persecuted them terribly: they'd capture them and throw them into the river and drown them, saying "If its water they want, let them have it!". All other groups -- even Martin Luther and Presbyterians and Congregationists accepted both infant baptism (still do today) and baptism by pouring (these groups still do today, as well).
