HELP!!!What can I do to flourish my school's wretched National Honor Society?

At our local high school, members must do a certain number of hours of community service per semester, or they are kicked out. This service can be of their choosing, but the NHS also offers group opportunities, such as tutoring services at a local library for middle and elementary school students, making sandwiches for a local soup kitchen, doing videos to promote the NHS on the morning tv announcements.
